What's this all about then?

This is a diary of our trip to Italy and the UK in May/June 2012. Somewhere to put our activities and some pictures.
We don't want to forget anything!

Wednesday, 20 June 2012 - Bath, Rellies and Romans

Another grey day dawns in Cirencester, but we are getting used to this record-breaking English summer.  Today we have organised a trip to Bath to meet up with more of T & C's cousins.  So many cousins, so little time!  Today we are off to meet Colin and Stephanie, and Mo and Mike.  The drive over to Bath was very nice, more beautiful countryside, some more narrow roads (with a bus).  Made it OK.

We had a great lunch, thanks Steph.  After lunch and a beer Mike and I set off with (local) Mike for a tiki-tour of Bath.  C & T stayed with Steph and Colin as they had all seen Bath before (especially Colin and Steph).  Mike and I were new to the city and (local) Mike took us on a great tour, including lookouts overlooking the city, and then into town for a trip to the Roman Baths.  That was great, quite an amazing place and shows how advanced those Romans were.  The museum there was very good.
Roman Baths in Bath, where else.

Wonderful architecture, look at that stone work

We returned to Colin and Stephs, and went for a walk around the local countryside.  Then we made our way back into Bath for dinner at Jamie's Italian.  Obviously Jamie didn't know we were coming because he wasn't there to meet us - but his staff did well and we had a good meal.  Apparently there are plans to open some of these here in NZ, we'll be starters if they do.

Returned home and drove back to Cirencester in the dark.  Fun, but we made it.  Another good day.

Tricia's diary put it this way:

Visited Bath, Colin and Steph, Mike and Mo.  Lovely day, John and Michael tour of Bath.  All went for a walk.  Out to Jamie's Italian for dinner.  Arrived home at 1 am, all very tired.
