No problems for TomTom again, so after a pleasant drive through the Scottish countryside we ended up in Balloch at the foot of the Loch. We walked along the marina admiring the boats - mostly small. Then we took a walk along the edge of the Loch watching the tourists depart in a big ferry. The sun was shining and it was very nice - quiet too.

Pathway beside Loch Lomond - very green |
We went to the Visitor's Centre in Balloch and got advice on where to go next. So of we set for Aberfoyle and Callander. We stopped in Aberfoyle and looked at a tourist place - with sheep and sheepdog displays - just like home. It was well past lunchtime and we hadn't had any. Walked around and saw the butcher just closed with signs for pies etc. The last customer was eating one and they looked good. So we had to raid the local supermarket for some 'stuff'' to keep us going. A bit of a disappointment really.
Onwards - we went a scenic route around Loch Achray, but ended up having to backtrack as the road was closed - still it was a nice drive. We finally ended up in Callander. If you are really old it was the setting for the old Dr Finlay's Casebook TV series from the 60s. Sadly we could all remember it. Anyway it was a pretty town and we had a big afternoon tea/lunch from a bakery/cafe. That was nice too. Did the shops and took in the sights.
