Today was our day to relive Chris and Tricia's memories of Wokingham where they spent several happy years. So off we went, finding a car park, and setting off for our walking tour. Visited their old house (since extended), looked at the farmland next door, now unused. Went back into the town - it was market day and I was half expecting to see the same people that we had followed around Tuscany, but no, this was a different lot. Some good food products for sale, but as we weren't cooking ourselves (I think the Hilton would frown on that) we didn't buy anything.

Found a Caffe in the square. This is a new thing in the UK. We can remember on our last trip in 2002 that there were almost none. Nice to see progress! Interestingly this cafe (Piazza Caffe) was run by an Italian couple. Good food and coffee. Made the lady smile when we left - we all said grazie. Of course that was almost a habit anyway.
Went for a drive to the old Primary school - Wescott Infant school. Apparently it hadn't changed much.
That was most of the day done. After a rest back at the hotel we went out for dinner to the Two Poplars Pub, just down the road from where C&T used live. It was a 10 pound (that's the currency, not the weight) special. Good value for money. Some of us had our first pint of English beer.
