What's this all about then?

This is a diary of our trip to Italy and the UK in May/June 2012. Somewhere to put our activities and some pictures.
We don't want to forget anything!

Tuesday, 26 June 2012 - The Elephant's Head

Yes, of course, it's the name of a Pub.  We'll get there eventually.

Another quiet day for our last full day in old Blighty.    The morning was quiet and lazy.  Sue and Andy's Grand kids arrived, with mum, for a visit.  Reminded us that we had some of these at home and we haven't seen them for a while.  Anyway Mum and the younger children (twins) departed leaving Sam with us for the day.  After lunch, Andy had to disappear for some bowling related activities.  So the rest of us decided to walk around, through the countryside, to Uncle Albert's.  So we did that.  The weather was pleasant and the walk was pretty.

Mike feeling the pain
We visited with Albert for a while and then slowly made our way back home.  After Sam was picked up we drove out to a place called Hook Green and the Elephant's Head Pub.  It wasn't far but we were definitely out in the English countryside, one lane roads, green, and luckily quiet.  Nice pub, with really nice traditional food.  Beer was good too.  Nice way to spend our last evening in the UK.  Sigh.

Tricia put it this way:
Kate came around with the twins (Jake and Holly) and Sam.  Sam stayed for the day (lovely boy).  Went out for tea at local Pub.
